Star Power is a Dangerous Thing

I must admit that I am a big fan of guys like John Carmack.  Carmack and his contributions to video games and graphics specifically were one of the main reason why I have followed a similar path in my own career.  I can most often be found designing large systems and developing graphics pipelines today because I used his career as a road map for my own.  Needless to say that there are a few forks in my road that did not lead to fame and fortune =), quite in the same way. » Read more..

Angry About XBLIG? Who Is To Blame?

I recently read an article on XBLAFans.com that discussed a few of the authors gripes around video game trends and how they need to die.  The article covered a lot of topics that frankly I agree with completely.  I think that there are probably more zombie games than actual zombies, and yes store-specific preorder bonuses need to go away.  One interesting note that caught my eye was his rant about the “Frustrated XBLIG community” and how they need to quit complaining that they are not making money.
